LAKE DISTRICT WEDDING VIDEO | CAZ + CRAIG

A stunning vintage wedding video, complete with humanist hand fasting ceremony, filmed by Jumping Spider Films against a beautiful Lake District backdrop, between the stone cottages of Barton Hall and the rolling fields of the Edenhall estate in Cumbria.

Over the years, many of you who have attended the weddings of friends, family and loved ones, could be forgiven for thinking you might have seen it all when it comes to how these events usually play out; for thinking perhaps that by and large weddings, whether traditional church services or modern themed wedding receptions, all follow a particular formula.  And, yes (depending on which wedding videography package your wedding video is based on – and remember the packages are just a guide, Jumping Spider Films are happy to discuss something completely bespoke), there’s the bride and groom preparation, the guest arrivals, shots of the ceremony venue, the wedding ceremony itself, the wedding breakfast, speeches, wedding reception etcetera, etcetera but the atmosphere, the ambience and all of those little, individual touches that each bride and groom have worked so hard to include, often have the ability to turn something as customary as a wedding, into something completely original.

The wedding videography team at Jumping Spider Films have indeed been privileged enough to see how, actually, no two weddings (and we’ve seen a lot of weddings by now!) are exactly alike and in fact some, much like Craig and Caz’s Lake District wedding, are in fact so special, they allow us to film a wedding video so unique and so bespoke that it fills us with a renewed excitement and capturing every little detail remains just as essential as ever in producing a beautiful wedding video keepsake to be treasured by the bride and groom for years to come.

And it seems that Jumping Spider Films’ were not the only ones who thought so!!  Craig and Caz have since informed us that the fab folks over at Rock My Wedding - rockmywedding.co.uk/caz-craig - were only too happy to feature their one of a kind special day – also as one of their Real Weddings blogs - and we were truly honoured to have received a kind mention and thrilled with Craig and Caz’s recommendation as part of their final thoughts!

From the moment we arrived to film the wedding preparation of both the bride and her bridal party and the groom and his groomsmen, it was if we had stepped into a Cath Kidston-kitsch, Laura Ashley-esque, less of the shabby and much more of the chic, champagne cork-popping, vintage wonderland; from delicate floral dressing gowns to intricate personalised cufflinks, from bursts of colour on more waistcoats than we’ve ever seen in one place, to the beautiful beading on the bride’s bespoke gown, this wedding celebrated a level of detail to delight our cameras and our Jumping Spider Films wedding videographers were determined to capture them all.

The beautiful floral arrangements and gentle lighting tenderly complemented the natural feel of a wedding celebration that was truly at one with its surroundings; from blues in every hue, cornflower, lavender and heather to twisted willow wreathes and buttonholes with pops of pink, purple and mauve, all set against the stunning rolling hills of the Lake District in shades of every green imaginable; the richness of the landscape was only enhanced by the relaxed, welcoming and warm nature of Caz and Craig’s friends and family.

As wedding videographers, at Jumping Spider Films, the one element of filming creative wedding videos that always feels most special is the reactions of  a couples’ wedding guests; there’s something very magical about discretely focusing the camera on the smiles, laughter and happy conversations of peoples’ loved ones coming together and as we were once described as the ninjas of wedding videography, Jumping Spider Films prides itself on our ability to collect these moments on film whilst maintaining a subtle distance, enabling us to create something completely natural and relaxed, which in Craig and Caz’s case was most definitely the order of the day.

What’s more relaxing than a satisfying brew, served in a vintage tea cup courtesy of Polly’s Pop-Up Tea Rooms? Or the sight of giggling flower girls resplendent in fairy wings and floral headdresses chasing around the fields with flat cap wearing page boys? Perhaps the whirr of a pea-green campervan pootling towards a trio of tipis buzzing with the acoustics of a live folk band.  Craig and Caz’s Lake District wedding was nothing short of a Jumping Spider Films, vintage wedding to remember!

And from the vows filmed in our short wedding highlights reel, Craig delivered these beautiful words to his even more beautiful bride, as he promised to “be with you forever, support you forever and love only you forever,” we can’t help thinking that this will be one of those weddings that Jumping Spider Films will indeed, remember forever.

So if we can help you, or someone you know create their forever wedding video, please get in touch for an informal chat today, or have a look at our growing library of wedding films (on our Jumping Spider Films YouTube and Vimeo channels) to see how our wedding videography style can effortless blends with yours.
